AXIOART CONTEMPORARY is an online art platform where you can place a bid for artworks and design objects created by Hungarian, East-Central European contemporary artists and designers; and where you can shop items at set prices besides auctions.
AXIOART CONTEMPORARY is a virtual auction house and a contemporary art platform where we collect top artists in visual art and design from today’s East-Central Europe. The website was founded with the goal of serving art collectors to buy artworks from anywhere in the world, and also of promoting artists from the region. Due to the same historical background, the East-Central European block’s art and design have many similar traits. In terms of cultural context, it is important to place next to each other these artworks not only for art experts, but also for those who wants to buy artworks.
We sell visual artworks and design pieces from post-war and contemporary art period.
All items on AXIOART CONTEMPORARY website are sold by artists, independent collectors, or our partner institutions, so that gallery and museum collections are directly sold through our platform.
Besides online sales and auctions, all items are selected by our curators, in accordance with international art theoretical and critical standpoints.
We sell the artworks of visual artists and designers from Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Romania.

Auctions are organized by our curators in accordance with professional viewpoints and different themes. All items are selected by our curators, depending on international art theoretical and critical standpoints.
All items on AXIOART CONTEMPORARY website are sold by artists, independent collectors, or our partner institutions, so that gallery and museum collections are directly sold through our platform.
AXIOART CONTEMPORARY doesn’t expose archives about hammer price, therefore if an artwork will pass unsold during an auction, the seller doesn’t have to worry if it has a negative consequence on the artwork, or on the artist’s reputation.

Date of auction: Our experts will contact you to discuss in which online auction you should sell your lot. As we organize frequently online auctions at our website, your item will be sold in a short period of time, you don’t have to wait a long time to sell the artwork.
Condition of sale: 8% commission is paid by the seller, which is deducted from the hammer price.
Payment: After the auction, we will contact the seller concerning the status of the artwork. For sold lots, we will send payment within 15 days from the day of the sale, provided we are in receipt of the buyer’s payment. Your payment will be based on the hammer price less 8 % commission and any agreed-upon expenses (for instance photography, restauration).
In order to sell an artwork or design object outside of online auction, at a fixed price, please fill out the item page at abcdefghijkl.com, complete the form with basic data and upload photos of your item. Please make sure to attach good quality photos of your property that you’d like to sell. Our colleagues will contact you via email or phone to discuss details.

How to bid?
After registration, please enter your maximum bid which has to be higher than the starting price and then click the “Place bid” button. The system will automatically save your bid (including bid increment), and if nobody place a higher bid for the item, the system will save your bid on the website as the highest one.Once you’ve placed your bid, we send you a confirmation email. You will receive a second email indicating if there is a higher bid.

Buying: After receiving the artwork or object, AXIOART CONTEMPORARY guides the buyer through the payment process offering an easy to use online bank platform with two-step payment. The amount of the invoice will be booked to the credit card when the buyer purchase the item. The credit card will only be charged once the item has been shipped personally or by a delivery service. AXIOART CONTEMPORARY helps with arranging shipment, and if needed with installing the purchased artwork.
Commission to be paid by the buyer: 20% of the hammer price is paid by the buyer as a commission. During the buying process, before confirming the transaction, we inform the buyer about the total purchase price including the commission to pay. In case the purchaser is a non-EU citizen, or a company or institution not registered in the European Union, a customs duty payment obligation arises on the basis of the transaction. Shipping: If you wouldn’t like to collect personally your purchased item, AXIOART CONTEMPORARY will help you with arranging shipment. Please note that shipping fees will need to be paid by customer.
